Survey attracts over 8000 responses Print

The Innovatiion Impact survey has been successfull in getting the required response to the questionnaire. End of July 2007 over 8000 reponses have been received, the survey is still open for those who wish to participate.

This response rate and number is very high compared to previous studies done in this field of collaborative international research. The study team would like to thank all people that have spent their time on completing the complex and quite lengthy questionnaire, without their help our research would have been impossible.

In addition to the good response we can say that the response is highly representative in terms of types of participating organisations, thematic areas covered, types of funding instruments and countries. Based on the status of responses in June 2007 the following respresnetativeness analysis has been done.

Of the 54,492 organisations that received the invitation to participate in the survey, 7,098 completed questionnaires were returned in June 2007 (13.03% response rate). The participation in the survey was voluntary and furthermore the respondents were guaranteed that their individual replies would be treated confidentially and for research purposes only. The 7,098 completed questionnaires can be split up to 4,985 for FP5 (70.23%) and 2,113 for FP6 (29.77%). This is almost identical to the sample we selected and thus underpins the importance of our sample selection.
